Greece is Officially Open…
Greece has announced today (Monday 6th July) that it will open all it’s airports on Wednesday 15th July for customers travelling from the UK.
As Greece is on the UK’s Safe List, you WILL NOT have to self isolate either side of your trip. All you need to do is fill out a Passenger Locator Form (PLF), at least 48 hours before you are due to arrive… (Fill Out Form Here) You may need to complete this on a laptop rather than on your phone.
Hotels, Bars and businesses across Zakynthos have welcomed this news with open arms and the majority are looking to open in the next 2 weeks, meaning ‘Summer Holidays’ are back.
We’ve spoken with number of local bar owners and hoteliers who are now putting everything in place to make their venue’s as safe as possible for the welcome return of foreign visitors.
Of course, it’s not just a case of opening the doors for a lot of these seasonal businesses and there is a lot of expense involved in getting open each year. With only 8-10 weeks of the regular summer season left, some places will have to make the difficult decision to start preparing instead for summer 2021. But fear not, the majority will be open come 15th July 2020.
Certain events have also been given the green light, with a few adjustments, so if you have an events package booked or any individual events, the likelihood is they will go ahead, as long as the venue that hosts them is open.
The news comes as a big relief to tens of thousands of UK travellers who have holidays booked from the 15th July onwards, and there are still plenty of great deals to be had. So if you’re not booked, get your bags packed and we’ll see you in a couple of weeks. What better way to end lockdown in the UK, than by heading to your favourite Greek island for sunshine, beaches, cocktails and kebabs!
See you soon.
