You will know London MC Yungen from his Afrobeat-infused pop slinker ‘Bestie’. In 2017 the single landed itself firmly in the Top 10 UK Singles Chart, dominated the UK R&B Charts and has accumulated over 29 million views on Youtube!
Prior to that Project Black & Red was considered his best work to date. Inspired and influenced by fellow rappers from the city like Giggs & Wretch 32 the release was a cocktail of hip-hop, R&B, pop, rap and beyond.
Gaining a huge following, including heavy support from BBC 1Xtra, the mixtape features some of the UK’s heavyweights such as Wretch 32, Krept & Konan and Stormzy.
Peaking at Number 1 in the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap charts & Number 11 in the overall iTunes album chart, the success of Project Black & Red led to a sold out headline show at Islington O2 Academy and he hasn’t stopped since!
Yungen’s consistent benchmark of lyricism, alongside his ever growing fanbase caught the attention of fellow UK rapstars and former Addicted Artists Krept & Konan back in 2012 who recruited him to their collective ‘Play Dirty and this once shy lyricist had accelerated from a young boy trying to convey his life in words to an internet sensation.
From there he toured with Naughty Boy and has since shared the stage with the likes of Tinie Tempah, Emeli Sandé, Wretch 32, Stormzy & Krept & Konan to name a few, live shows & touring neither phase or are new to the south London musician.
To date he has toured the world twice performing in front of 10’s of thousands, as well as headlining 2 of his own headline shows at O2 Academy Islington & Village Underground, Yungen then embarked on his first SOLD OUT UK Tour in 2017 with a London date at the renowned Koko, Camden.
He now finds himself inundated with invites to headline some of the UK’s most internationally recognised festivals this summer like Reading, We Are FSTVL & Leeds.
This June he will host the Official Opening Party at Pure Beach Club’s Addicted and quite frankly its gonna go off!
